Sorry, just had AC/DC playing on the garage stereo while I taught my wife and kids how to lite off mortars.

My brother and I have been putting on 4th of July parties for the last decade. We have spent more than 8K each at the Tulalip rservation on fireworks and have been keeping track of what is the best bang for the buck.

The first thing to keep in mind is that prices are negotionable. The more you spend, the better the disount you will get. Do not be afriad to pool money with other people and then ask for a better price.

Now onto the best fireworks and what you should pay for them. When I say best I am referencing mortars. The only thing that comes close to them are Kegs, but Kegs change names every year and are hard to track.

The best mortar you can buy is called Excalibur. If you buy volume you shouldnt pay more the 48 bucks for the 24 pack. Notice the 2.00 bucks a shot? Dont pay more than that for any mortar. These mortars have a large report and lots of color.

Next on the list is Lockend N Loaded. These were hard to come by this years. Try and get them for about 35 bucks for a box of 24 rounds. I picked up two cases of them last year for that price. They start out at 70 a box. Volume is the key.

Grizzley fireworks suck when put next to the two I mentioned but are cheaper.

If you have the cash and sweet talk the stand owner into it, pick up a couple of 4", one 5" and two 6" mortars. After your neighbors are done high fiving each other for there awsome display, light one off. Make sure your using a 4' tall schedule 80 pipe though. The old rule of thumb used to be 10.00 bucks an inch but you will be pay 50.00 for a 4", 75.00 for a 5" and 90.00 for a 6"incher. We were offered a 12" incher last year, but 600.00 was to steep and I couldnt come up with that size pipe. The mortar looked like an alien head, it was awsome.
We didnt buy any back door stuff this year but were told that the prices were still good if we wanted to.

Have fun and be safe.
