Short story:
Car is back together again, I cut an additional half coil off my front springs while it was apart for the C5 brake install. When I put it on the ground, drove around the block etc, now my front end is approximately 2" taller than it was before I cut the springs! Yes, front springs are indexed correctly. I'm going out again to investigate whether I got it in the pocket on top.
Both sides are equally about 2" taller than before.

That's my guess. Happened to my 89 after cutting 1/4 coil from each and removing the isolator in favor of a length of heater hose. Settled down after making sure I was in the pocket up top. _________________ 92 Camaro

Yes, upper spring pockets were not in. Fixed with a pickle fork and a sledgehammer. They made a satisfying thud as they dropped into place on both sides. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Rear needs to go maybe a bit lower...
I rub pretty hard over bumps and especially while turning over bumps.
I love this first pic, it looks great.

The back is minus 1.25 coils as of right now.
Front is minus 1.5 coils I believe (maybe 1.25), I cut it once before but don't remember how much cause it was a couple years ago.
I want to do the Ground Control weight jacks, but I'm waiting on that and figured this would be fine for a while now. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Drive the car for atleast 2 weeks before you adjust anything more. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I've never had springs settle before. We'll see what happens.
Regardless I'm leaving it as-is probably until I get the funtime money saved up to do the GC kit. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Had the same issue right after doing the delalums but it was only one side. I drove down the street stabbing the brakes and it did nothing. Drove a buddy to work and right as I turned into the parking lot THUD! Freaked out my buddy pretty bad.
Looks good. I agree with dropping the rear a bit more. _________________

Here's a fun fact:
Stopped and idling (750RPM), my front tires have enough resistance to turning to stall my engine when I try to turn the wheels. This only started happening when I put the 275 width Nitto NT05 on the front.
I need a throttle kicker for my PS pump! _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Had that same issue when I put the 285's on my Camaro. Made parking lot maneuvers interesting. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

When I first cut my iroc springs it took two weeks before they lowered to what it is now. About an inch and a half from the first test drive.
Same with my Mazda. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |
