I need help, where the steering box mounts, the frame is all messed up. A previous owner tried to repair it, but only did one side, and a terrible job at that.

My dad has an arc welder, but he and I haven't had time to teach me how to use it. And I don't trust myself, either. Laughing

I start school in Fall, and possibly start work within the next week.

Here are some pictures of the damage...

Thanks for posting links to the pictures. Makes loading way easier.

Are the bolts long enough that you could toss a new plate on the inside and tack it on?

Yes, they appear long enough. They have about an inch or more.

After finally seeing how this cracks. I'm trying to figure out how the wonder bar actually helps correct this? Confused

It's simple triangulation. The wonderbar ties both frame "horns" together making a U shape rather than two | | shapes. And it helps with deflection from turning. Instead of putting all the turning pressure on one horn out in the middle of nowhere, it dispurses it amongst both sides.

That's a NASTY break and will take a good day to repair properly.
