I finally had a chance to run the Z28 today. Very Happy

I was behind a crotch rocket at a stop light and figured he would run. I haven't really tested this car and haven't even seen full throttle with traction yet. The light turned, the biker paused for a bit messing around with something, left the line easy, and then rolled into the throttle. I stayed back to give him plenty of space but when he hit the throttle I nailed it too. I did a pretty good job managing tire spin through 1st gear with some squealing and a bit of fishtail here and there. 2nd gear stuck good and I was pretty much walking with the bike. Unfortunately, I lost focus and bounced off red line for a bit before I realized I needed to shift again (maybe an auto is more my style Laughing). The bike pulled a few lengths on me with that mistake. Now usually I would let off a the top of 2nd (about 60 mph), but today I did something very uncharacteristic and decided to keep going. I put it into 3rd and I'm telling you that car ran hard! We went up to about 85-90 mph and both slowed down very quickly to 55 mph. All I can say is I'm amazed at the power this LQ4 makes with a head and cam. This is a bone stock 6.0L short block with a set of Patriot 243 heads and an MS3 cam. WOW BABY!!!

Now this story was almost 10x better if the light had turned just 2 seconds earlier because in front of that bike was a new Shelby Mustang. I so much wanted that bike to line up next to the Shelby and then both of us walk the Mustang. Twisted Evil

Previous owner went 12.1 on the street tires taking it easy out of the hole with 3.42 gears. He didn't want to break the rear axle. It has 4.10 gears now so it's a little more spunky. Although, 4.10 pinion gear in a 10-bolt is pretty susceptible to breaking. I'm hesitant to even take it to the track for fear of getting a little too much traction and breaking the pinion gear.
