my remote start needs to be hooked to the brake switch, and it is right now but i have something wrong cause it doesnt turn off when the brakes are pressed

the manual says anytime 12v is applied to the brown wire (of remote start) the remote starter will stop operating...so which wire on the brake switch gets 12v applied to it when you press the brakes?

or do i need to use the gray/black wire that disables the remote starter when its grounded

so pretty much does the brake switch get grounded or 12v applied, and which wire is that?

Use a test light. One wire has 12v all the time. The other will have 12v when the switch is let out.

Check your Haynes manual. It should have labels for what all the wires are. what its for, color and voltage

There are three wires on the brake pedal switch. Orange, yellow and blue. Orange is hot at all times. Blue is for the brake lights and will have 12V when the brakes are applied, same for the yellow wire which is for the third brake light.

Luke I think you'll have to tap the wires goin to the lights, once the brain senses the 12v the grey/black wire will signal the brain to kill it

I've tested all the wires and orange is hot at all times like al said, I tapped blue since it goes to the lights but it didn't work....so I'm slightly confused here, ryan said the brain might be faulty since it was refurbished and that's how you got it so cheap, it signaled the program circuit on the blue wire so its obviously there but the kill relay might be shot, I say tap one of the lights and see if it works

One way to test t would be to just give the wire itself 12v, it should kill it if the relay is working
