Flew in yesterday afternoon. I thought I would leave our weather behind, but when the plane landed, it was snowing There were quite a few accidents on the freeway this morning due to the weather, which is supposed to be at freezing for the next couple of days.
Obviously my supervisory staff believes that I'm trainable, and able to use what I learn here to train and issue solder rework certs to the shop It's myself and a coworker from my shop in Bothell, two from our Dallas shop and three others in the class. I paid the shop supervisor here a visit this afternoon (former Bothell coworker) and made tentative plans for dinner during the week. Since it's a business trip, we probably won't get out to see much of the city, but we'll do our best _________________ 92 Camaro

Jake is in the Austin area IIRC, which is about 4 hours away. I'll be on my return flight Friday as soon as the class ends. _________________ 92 Camaro

Hey Rich, thanks for the tip! Food was great, but I would have had a herd time finding the place without asking my instructor first Pappadeaux has an excellent Cajun menu, and the prices aren't bad either.
As for the weather, now it's just cold, the rain & snow is supposedly over for a while, at least for my stay.
First night we tried Saltgrass' just next to the hotel, they had a good western menu and the steaks were very good. We found the Hard Rock Cafe on Monday and watched part of the BCS game there. I took my partner in crime to Texas de Brazil on Tuesday, pricey but excellent all you can eat Brazilian style BBQ where the spits of meat are brought to your table to be carved off for you (I'd been to one of these before). Last night we went to a small pizza place with a former co-worker who now works at our Dallas shop. Now I'm looking forward to coming home, Per Diem only goes so far Flight leaves tomorrow, just a couple of hours after class finishes up. |
