Well bought myself a late christmas present off of craig's list. New head unit. Got tired of the songs on my old Kenwood, so bought me a different one Paid $100 for it.
I was considering the KDC-X994 Excelon, but this 993 was too good a deal to pass up for the price I paid. Install was easy since I already had a Kenwood unit, what was hard was finding what I needed in the 60 page instruction manual. Took me about 3 days of reading and going online to get everything figured out. And I love the built in bluetooth. Works perfectly with my iphone and has controls in it for the ipod feature in my phone. The sound is incredible. You can set front and rear speaker size, sub size, speaker placements and a bunch of other things. Some of which I have no idea what they do. There is also built in 5 band graphic equalizer. You can set the lighting colors in the unit to 10 different ones, or create your own custom colors. You can also set the colors behind the knobs to different one than the rest of the unit. I could go on, but I think you would be bored with 60 pages worth of stuff here.
And the nice thing i I sold my older Kenwood 342 for $50. So I've got $50 in it, and the cost to print the 60 page manual.
I would definitely recommend this unit, but it's not one for the faint of heart. You can't get it and throw away the manual and just play with it til you figure it out. Be prepared to do a lot of reading, but once you get it sorted out your be in music heaven.
