Lighting is playing your eye. The hood is brightly reflecting the sky and the bumper isn't. The picture below has more uniform lighting. You can see the colors blend pretty well (ignore the dust on the hood). And this picture is from before I polished the front bumper. It looks even better now.

The bumper has taken a beating over the years. It is a little more dull than everything else. But that's the case with about every car on the road.
