What are the good forums where guys with too much money and too little sense are selling stuff? Good junk yards out there?

LS1tech.com seems to have some good stuff and appears to be active daily. Any others?

LS1tech > you

Also try theturboforums.com (formerly turboMustangs.com but don't hold that against them).

Don't forget about TGO. Some LS stuff, specifically the swap parts you will need, will come up on there.

If an iron block truck motor is your cup of tea, search craigslist for Chebbie Express vans, or other commercially owned trucks. A lot of them have 5.3's in them, but you should be able to find a rebuildable 6.0 block for basically scrap price.

Likewise, if you want yourself some aluminiumium, try the GTO guys; ls1gto.com, gtoforum.com, ect.

Also, never underestimate a good craigslist wrecked Camaro, or one with a blown 4L60E. Wink

*Edit: I realize that I am posting this as a Northwesterner, and your used engine mileage may vary considerably since you live in a crappy sta... er... yes. I'm outta here

Wrecked 4thgen is your best bet for all the stuff you'll need. Acc drive, mounts, wiring, trans, etc. That shat all add up a ton because people know you NEED it. If I did it over I'd get a parts car and sell off the stuff I don't need. You'll practically break even right now.

LS1tech people still thing their stuff is gold. Most of the performance websites will be like that. For some reason it's even worse at TGO. Damn rahtards.

Classifieds at corvetteforums, ls1gto, etc are a better lookout. I keep hearing people buying from cleveland pick a part or iowa or ohio or some such shat too. There's a dude in Australia putting together a LSx ute that got most of his stuff from there! Place must be huge.

There's also a yard out in Spokane that was ENORMOUS. Can't recall the name but last time I was there (like 3 years ago) they had an LS1 in the office with a 2.5k sticker on it with wiring/acc which isn't a bad deal.

Spauldings is what it's called. (sp)

And right literally in front of it is a Pull-a-part.

Both are well organized for the most part, Pull-a-part has a list of every car there and what slot it's in (idk how many other's do it, i know the one in Arlington (or marysville, wherever it's considered) didn't used to have that, but it's been about 2 year's since I've been there.

That Cleveland PickApart is a big place but very poor search tool on the website. I might have to just call. They seem to want a whole lot for the few engines they have on ebay.

I did find a $1500 LS1 with 50K miles in Indiana. I also found a supercharged CTS-V engine for $6700. Very Happy

The $1500 engine is a no go. I got pictures and there is slobber all over the front of the engine and oil leaks around pan and oil filter. The engine had a supercharger and it has been over boosted. I'm pretty sure the piston rings are shot.

Laughing I was talking with some of my new coworkers here in Bothell and they remember when DJ No Name was on 107.7 and had the bedroom invasion party at my house. Kinda surreal being a celeb like that.

Edit; I was just thinking. My car was wrecked twice while I lived there and I've been in two houses since and no problems! *knock on wood*

Hit this guy up before the insurence company totals his car.

http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=383877

I know it's along way from where you live but look at it as an opertunity. Find out what he owes on it and what the insurence CO is offering. Might be able to pick it up and part out what you dont need.

That's kind of a long drive for Jon. Razz

They wont total it out anyway. Just needs hood, bumper, radiator, and core support. Ian's got that into his birdie twice over.
