Ok, I will start out this by saying I BOUGHT A NEW TANK AND NEW LINES.

Today i'm starting the pulling of the old tank and all of that good stuff, but last night and today i got in the car and was able to for some reason drive it around the neighborhood today and it didn't die or anything strange happen.

Anyone have any idea on why the heck that is?

either way i'll hopfully have some pics to post up. i'm headed out there in a bit to start on this. with a little luck the camaro and the chevelle will be on the road by the end of this weekend.

Weren't you having an issue before where it would work for a short time, and then crap out and start dumping gas?

Yea but it seemed to only be when i changed something, i had my theory that the hoses that replaced t he metal lines heated up enough and weren't soggy anymore. but i don't know how much sense that makes.

just a question, not met to start another flame thread.

I'm crossing my fingers this is all it takes to get it road worthy again, i miss takin the road trips in it, more fun to drive than an hhr.

Good news, man. So what lines ended up being crossed at the pump?

When you replace the O2, don't get a Bosch. Use NGK/NTK, or Delco. *two cents*

Truth be told, I don't know.

I left shortly after the disassemble began. when I came back they were installing it and I jumped in from there.

I know now tho with my own 2 eye's that everything's connected right tho according to the printout we had.

another issue I think that was hurting me was half the lines that we installed were cracked horribly.

And I also never use Bosch so we're good there.

Smack! He pulled the tank Saturday. He drove the car Friday night and it ran, which is shocking because usually his car doesn't run, it just pees on the ground. Razz

Well I took it out for a drive and to re weld the exhaust. ran there to the shop perfectly (about 35 mile's from here)

Then as i'm leaving the shop i round the first corner, and i push the clutch in it sounds almost like a squealing noise.

my first thought was a belt, but no. i drove it back home and the time, if i pushed in the clutch to shift it'd do that, the clutch felt a little funny, i don't know if that's due to the fact I've been driving the HHR the whole time or if there's something there, but it doesn't slip or anything when i get on the gas.

Figured i'd save a thread and just add it on here.

Other than that tho, it was a nice drive, but it's getting old one problem after the other.

When was the last time the clutch was done?

When the did it, did they replace the TOB and pilot bushing?

Had a similar problem a few weeks ago. Mine didn't slip while in gear either, problem was while trying to shift there was a grind and squeal. Throwout bearing went, was due to a leaking slave cylinder. Shortly after that was fixed, the clip on top of the clutch pedal broke off and I was without a clutch for a day or two.

For as long as i had the car, the clutch has never been replaced, but as we all know, i've owned the car sine about mid 2007, and for 1 year at least outta that, it sat lol.

There was no oil leaking outta the rear that I saw, it was crazy timing, I literally left the shop and boom, had the noise.

I guess it's time to check out the clutch and see what I can do.

I hope it's nothing too dang big. I'll keep updating as I figure this out.

Also Al, if we're talking about the same round plastic deal. I had that same piece of plastic break on my old camaro the first day I was able to drive it to school, memorable moment how one little piece of plastic can stop the whole car from moving.

Ok, so had my buddy who works on transmissions looked at it today.

It is infact the throwout bearing. so sometime over the next 2 weeks i gotta get the money for a new clutch and the whole works. figure since it's getting worked on i might as well do a little preventive maintenance.

Any advice as far as shopping for a clutch and all the misc. parts?

If you're gonna keep the stock veesix, and roll it as a daily, just get a clutch kit at NAPA. They'll give you the TOB, pilot, disk, plate and alignment tool.

Don't forget to have the flywheel turned when you have it all apart.
