Whats the rule at the strip for locking seat backs? I know they always seem to check them. My stock 74 seats are no problem, they lock all the time until you pull the release. But I have a set of newer 2nd gen seats I want to use. These have inertia locks. They just flop around til you brake. The inertia locks seem to work. If i tip the seat forward here on the floor the back will lock. But just sitting like they would be installed.. floppy.

Do I need to try and move my locking hinges to these newer seats?

There isn't anything in the NHRA rulebook specifically stating anything about folding seats. We basically check to make sure the seat is safely secured to the rail/floor and that there's nothing broken about it.
