That would be scary as sh*t!!! I'd be interested to find out how a drive shaft failure would cause the trans to protrude into the cockpit like that. Wonder if the trans is still attached to the motor. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

| I've heard that driveline failures will break the transmission case or bellhousing many times. This evidently just had a huge force directed straight up through the floor. Never underestimate the forces at work here. |

If you look closely you will notice the tailshaft housing sheared clean all the way around. Also, the trans seems to have twisted in place, possibly it split the case up front, or separated from the bellhousing.
Very scary pic, regardless. |
