Are there good and bad ones? Or pretty much the same?

The reason why I have been looking at them is because the last few trips to the track I have had some knarly wheel hop doing my burnout. The wierd thing is that when I had the 700R, it NEVER had a wheel hop problem. Is there any other tricks to stopping the wheel hop?

I think adjusting your pinion angle can?

I guess I have lucked out, both of my cars were lowered and never had wheel hop?? Maybe I just always had crap tires Laughing

Maybe you have been lucky, or maybe there is something wrong with my car, because it isn't even lowered...

I had massively scary wheelhop when my torque arm bolts at the diff came a little bit loose. Check all the rear suspension for loose bolts and worn-out bushings.

A stock height car AFAIK should not have any wheelhop as long as the suspension is in good shape.

Shocks good? Control arms at proper level at ride height? Worn out bushings?

Derek, your rear shocks have seen better days. You've got the reverse rake going on.

Shocks don't hold the car up

They will affect wheel hop. The springs oscillate and the worn shocks can't control it. Plus the LCA geometry.

If your car is sagging back, you need springs.

After that, if your control arms point downward from rearend to chassis you need brackets. Get weld on with bolts. I've always bought the Spohn ones and been happy with them. Have them on my 9" now. Use the hole that gets you level or pointing barely up.

A tubular torque arm will help too. I have never had any wheel hop with my car.

It sits slightly lower in the back, yes. The shocks squeek over bumps sometimes but there firm, They don't bounce around (I know they don't have anything to do with ride height).
The angle of the LCA isn't level. I guess I'm gonna get under it and tighten everything up since I did swap out the rearend, makes sense that something might have come loose, and I'm sure the hopping doesn't help either. lol

So bolt-on ones are no good Paul? That was the main thing I was curious about.

I have no experiance with the bolt on ones, they just seem hokey to me. Weld on is that extra piece of mind.

Sorry for the "kinda" jack, but I have a pair of new, unmolested Spohn bolt-ons (which, by the nature of steel, means they're also weld-ons) if anyone wants them. Make me an offer, as long as it's $30.

Do you have the hardware as well? If so I'll take them.
