Sunday Oct 17th, this sunday...
Alright, so far it's Me, Dewey, and hopefully Kelly.
Cruise will be up Mt St Helens way. We can go up through Cougar as far as they have the roads to go, or we can go through castle rock. Cougar is much more fun driving wise, and should have less people.
Castle rock probably has better views but the road is lame and there are TONS of people.

you should just loan me the capture card, and camera for a day. then we don't have to hassle with burning CD's etc. I can just capture straight to my PC. |

Excellent, so theirs 3!
Kelly, so you need to be home at 4. That's easy duder. I'd perfer a morning drive actually. If we left even as late as 10, it only takes 45min to get to cougar, and another hour to get to windy ridge if they havn't closed it. Besides, if need be, you could always take off early.
I say we all meet somewhere at 9am, then head up. Nice casual morning drive, that way Dewey doesn't have to skip church |

You have a good point there, Paul, but I have another more important thing stopping me: lack of funds. There were two big bills to pay this week so after those checks were sent I have a balance of about -$1.50 in the account. I can't justify spending money on a road trip when I am going to have a hard enough time making sure we have food and whatnot for the week. Can't wait for next Thursday, sheesh. It's a rather emberassing thing (to me at least) to even have to say what I just did, but hopefully next month won't be like this. |

One other thing: Paul you are correct that avoiding the main route is wise. A couple astronomy buddies of mine went up a few days ago and the scenic views were marred by all the crowds and media everywhere. Here's a pic taken of the horizon:
And here's a pic of a nifty double-binocular setup they were using:
And here is the view through the binocs, the mountain didn't dissapoint:

From what I read in the paper, windy ridge is still open, and kel, I'm sure you could ride with dew or mike over up here. |

I worked late and kinda slept in, I wish I had thought of riding along I could have set the alarm. Did anyone go up there today? |
