my gauges in my 89 gta stopped working where should i look for the short at i tore the hole dash out couldnt find any wires that were shorted could it be inside the steering column any good electrical shops in vancouver i cant find the problem any help appreciated this car has been parked in my garage for 6 years in dry storage thanks

First thing to do would be to check the fuses in the fuse panel, then make sure the wiring harness is fully engaged into the printed circuit board on the back of the gauge cluster.

I would also suggest adding a couple of periods to your posts Very Happy

Chebby clusters have a habit of pushing the harness contact plug back, or at a funny angle, which causes them to lose ground or power, and weird electrical gremlins ensue.
