Alot of you guys have probably seen the rags publish numbers for Fords new 5.0 litre engine in the new 2011 mustang. Claimed 390 RWHP out of a 410hp engine, mid to low 12's stone stock. Reminds me of the BS hype that surrounded the Nissan GTR. Well, just like the GTR the hype stops once cars are delivered and vids are taken.

The owner of the 2011 mustang also owns the Camaro that put the hurt on it. The only thing done to the Camaro is a CAI. Check out the posts below the vid, so many excuses. |

The new Mustang V6 supposedly puts out 310hp. Just slightly more than the Camaro V6. Wonder if thats a coincidence? _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

| I think the camaro v/6 was just certified for 311 LOL.. but there's a ford engineer on one of my pontiac sites. He's quick to point out that the ford engine does it using alot less fuel then the gm engine. |

Wasn't that 390 number also pulled when the mustang was in 4th gear? The new mudstains 1:1 gear is 5th. No double overdrive for them. _________________

Well they're PR sucks at the details but they can sure evoke so much more feeling for the car than GM has ever been able to. I really like this commercial even though I'm not really interested in the car itself.

I suspect that the new 5.0L Mustang is more potent than you think with just simple mods. It just needs to get into the right hands.
That was a good commercial from Ford. But speaking of lousy commercials, I don't know what the heck has happened to Dodge and Jeep since Fiat took over. It's like they are trying to strip every last drop of masculinity from their vehicles. That might work in Europe where men carry purses and wear square toed shoes, but we still have some real men with hair on their chests that do not want to be associated with Fiat's advertising image. They seriously DO NOT understand Americans. |

I wouldnt say ever, that one single commercial pontiac made for the ls1/ws6 transam.. where it ate the other car at the light.. that commercial was bad ass. Of course I think I only saw it twice on tv. |

| There must be another version of the transam ad. without all the cartoon noises. The posted one is slightly different then the one I saw. |

Apparently you haven't seen the commercials with women in hair salons and driving Jeeps, or the minivan commercials with people wearing kitty cat face masks, or the car show adds with the loser that has a big 'fro hair do, or the other commercials that don't even seem to be about cars at all. |

| I am sure they will be mod freindly, but they sure as hell aint gonna run mid 12's bone stock. The cars Ford gave to the rags to test a couple months ago were running that number and dyno'd almost 400. Similar to the hype around the GT-R. That thing had so much hype built around factory ringers it was ridiculous. |

| No, the commercials are a constant reminder why I don't want a Dodge. It has a repulsive effect. |
