Well.................here we go again. They found a spot on my lung when they did the cat scan last week. It's about golf ball size they say, but too small to biopsy. So................................under the knife I go.
June 8th, will be in for 3-4 days they say. They want to control the pain with IV's and want me to stay there. Zahara is an IV therapy nurse (vascular access-new fancy name for the department) and could give them to me at home, but I guess just in case they want me there if something goes wrong.
Zahara says send chocolate, flowers, gifts (not car parts) to her because she will be suffering along with me and I can't have them. She needs these to get through this. But don't send them all at one time, we don't want UPS and the FTD drivers causing a roadblock with so many deliveries to my room. So make a sign up sheet so there will be no duplication of gifts and types of chocolate. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Well........................ok. But ONLY one part.
This will be easier to get through I'm told. Just have to recover from surgery.
But on the bright side, I will get some really good drugs _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Maybe we need to set up a seperate thread just to organize what get well speed parts to send.
Hopefully this will take care of it...and of course, if there is something we can do to help out, let us know. |

I'm liking this idea a lot. Almost makes it worth while.
So.............should I make a "wanted" list
Hmmm..............here are a few "suggestions for you. I'll add more as I think of them
1, 3.70 to 3.90 ford 9" center section
2. Set of LS1 rear disk brakes to put on the 9"
3. LS1 front brakes for Daisy
4. Good dash pad for Daisy
5. Two or four 245/50/16 tires for Daisy
6. Nice red door panels for Daisy _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Great news!!! Wasn't cancer, was a fungal infection I breathed into my lung somehow. Now no reason to think I'll ever get cancer ever again in my lifetime.
Now just have to deal with the hole in my side and in my lung. But I'm on
KILLER drugs right now. I'm feeling NO pain _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Yes it's absolutely frickin wonderful
They said since I had one cancer and then with this one coming from the other one I'd have problems the rest of my life, and at some point it would affect something that could not be cured.
But since this isn't cancer and my entire body scan was negative they see no reason I should ever get cancer again. This was totally unrelated other than it took hold when my immune system was so far down anything could have taken hold on me then, where as being normal it wouldn't have cause any problems at all for me or anyone else for that matter. It was airborne is how I got it. Just a side effect of it all I guess.
Now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop as far as pain goes. They tell me I'm really in for it at some point today or tonight. But if all goes well I may go home tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers. The net here sucks, the tv sucks, the food sucks. But I do have a real hottie for a nurse. I may be old but I'm not dead yet _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Well it's 5:12 am here now. Been woke up about 3974597 times now in the middle of the night. Last time was to ask how I'm doing. If I'm sleeping I'm doing good. Frikin dipsticks. And I'm starving and food it at 8 am. Told them I have to eat many small meals per day, but apparently they didn't listen. Wonder if I can get pizza delivered at 5 am?
OK, I'm done ranting now. Well maybe I'll rant some more later. I know your all looking forward to it.
Mike: Need bucks to do it buddy. Wanna float me a loan? I blew all my money on a big red part for my car, but what a buy it was even though it was red!!!!! Rear and Wilwoodies, not to mention the stuff I sold off it. Just WOW. As good of a deal as Daisy was!!! Maybe even better.
Now Mike I know you are wanting to do leg hump thing over me possibly putting a red part on my car, but not gonna happen. (well not unless you float me that loan.........ya know easy terms........no interest.....no pay back type of deal........$500 will do nicely ) And Burgundy cars DO NOT like red parts at all. Slows me down to the speed of your car ya know Need to get the brakes worked out for it, the welding done, and get it sand blasted and painted black!!!! Am seriously thinking of trying to get the Superlites mounted on it. Why not? In for a penny, in for a pound. Besides it would be way cool to have Wilwoods on all four corners. Can you say major frikin stopping power Will stop on a dime and give you $.09 cents change!!!
I'm thinking about trying to use the LS1 parking brake setup and making a weld on bracket for the superlites. But not real sure if it will work or not, need to mock it up and see. The offset of the caliper mounts is going to be a challenge. I'm thinking of buying a second set of LS1 backing plates, rotors, and calipers to use for mock up purposes so my car wont be down when I'm working on this. Got a set on Ebay that I'm watching. Auction for a set ends in 4 hours or so. Also need to find a u-joint to adapt my aluminum shaft to the 1330 yoke. The aluminum shaft does not take a standard u joint in the rear position. Been thinking about drive shaft length also. If my stock shaft is too short, then the best way I can figure out how to use the shaft and not have to be a new expensive custom built shaft is to get the longer rear end yoke and have my shaft shortened. Much cheaper than getting a new shaft.
And I'd like to find a 3.70 pumpkin for a good price if I can. I like the 3.73's I have now, but if I get everything else worked out I may just go with the 3.50's that came with the rear. Not much of a difference really. And with the new motor might be a better gear ratio for the street with the low first gear in my T56. I run out of first gear pretty quickly anyways.
Can ya'all tell I'm bored out of my skull???? _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Even more great news. I was supposed to be in here for 4 days. I'll most likely be going home today I'm doing so well. The doc told me I'm a strong old SOB to be doing so well so quickly.
(sorry to steal your smiley Mike, but the situation warranted it)
