...when your car isn't garaged.
This was causing the blower to to make quite a bit of noise since the cage is off balance, I think it took the bearing too. New motor and all is well
Part of the junk in there is insulation, I assume from when I had the dash apart to fix the heater box behind the radio pod. The rest is leaves sucked in through the cowl area.
I didn't know there were so many different motors and fans for the same application. I had a motor a few years ago with a splined shaft and the cage fit by friction. This one was keyed with a nut on top of the shaft, there is yet another with a set screw in the cage that holds it to the shaft. Fortunately, the motor I got today was the same style as the one I took out. _________________ 92 Camaro

For a split second I thought you were trying to be like Brandon, keeping a mouse in that cage or something. _________________

The fan started making all kinds of noise again this week, like it is severely unbalanced. I pulled it again this morning and found it stuffed full of insulation again.
I found out where the insulation came from, but not how it got there. It sucked it in through the cowl screen where the wipers are. By the base of the hood, the liner is all shredded, so I removed the thing, now I'd like to find a new one, but can go without. |

| You've got pets. Sometimes Bounce dryer sheets will deter them.. they also don't smell too bad. Just throw a few around. Like under the seats and stuff. |

| Thanks, I'll have to give it a try. The car doesn't sit long enough to have "pets" as I drive it almost every day. It only sits when low on gas, and only for a day or two. If I had pets, I'd think it would be in the 89. |

| Doesnt matter if its used every day or not. Still think there's critters involved. I do alot of pet removal during the winter. |

I did vacuum a bunch of garbage from the blower side of the evaporator. Hopefully it'll stay clean for a while While I was at it, I removed the blower intake screen on the cowl and vacuumed that out really well too. |
