ok we have a craftsman 6.75tq briggs&stratton lawnmower and its rarely used as is kept outside but under a thin piece of plastic covers but it doesnt get to wet with the cover.
anyhow the other day when i was trying to do the lawn it did the front find with a couple problems mostly chewing up wood and then i did the backyard and all went well untill it really started chewing up the wood and then it just kept dying.
so first i though it was low on gas, filled it up and nothing still. ok now i finally got some oil and i drained as much of the very very little oil there was out and put fresh, still didnt start and i tried gas again and realized that the gas in the mowers tank is a dark blue, so im assuming oil somehow got into the gas as its the same color as the oil i just poured in. thing is i dont understand how oil got in there unless somehow inside the engine or some dripped in. so i poured out the gas and put a bit more in and still nothing. so what do i do? should i put a hose to the gas tank and try to clean out as well as i can? or will this seize up the engine?
also btw it makes a metal to metal sound when you try to start it up and on occasion it will shoot out blue smoke sometimes white. HELP PLEASE! |

It's a lawnmower, take the engine apart, refurbish, and reassemble, shouldn't take more than a couple hours. Those engines are super simple. _________________ 1986 Camaro Z-28 IROC-Z 350 swap |

For future reference, the name of a device can help you determine what to use it for. For example a lawn mower is traditionally used to mow lawns, whereas a wood chipper is used to chip wood.
Like Spike said, pull it apart. You'll figure out it's shot, so then go buy a new one, since you broke your Mom's. If you don't have the cash for a new one, tell her you'll work it off by taking all the fallen branches and crap off of the lawn before you mow.
But be sure to pull the engine apart first, or you'll learn nothing. |

You ran it very low on oil, OK you ran it out. You caused it to overheat and now oil is seeping past the rings. It is no doubt low on compression but probably hard to pull through due to the overheating _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

Fairly easy fix.
1. Find about a 4ft piece of decent rope.
2. Get out your bike, hop your ass on it.
3. Pedal yourself with rope in tact to value village
4. Find another lawn mower that works
5. If you find one, afix rope to handle, and tie to your bike
6. Hop your ass back on bike
7. Pedal it on home with mower in tow
8. Mow the lawn! _________________

I'll second flea's remarks.. Toasted cylinder walls, broken rings, scored bearings. take your pick. Your getting oil into the combustion chamber, that spells bad news.

I still think just go find another mower. You cant rebuild an engine for free. By the time you get some parts and repair you could have bought another one for the same price.
The Mower about was pretty funny on youtube where it munched that watermelon lol _________________

| I would agree with Zac. Lawnmowers are all over craigslist and such for free or very little money. Just get a new one, and stop running over branches. |
