Hey I just wanted to see how all you guys with perimeter bolt valve covers and headers routed your plug wires so they don't melt. Mine look like crap right now because their all over the engine bay, tryin to keep them away from the headers. I wanted to clean it up a bit. Thanks

On my IROC I bought two sets of Taylor brand wire looms (so I had four each of two, three, and four notch looms).
I took the four two-notch looms and ran them near the plug end of the wires to pull them together and away from the headers.
I took the three-notch looms and some small L-brackets. I put the wires through the end notches, and an M8 bolt with nylock nut through the center. I then bolted the bracket to the centerbolt on the valve cover (could use perimeter bolts easily with larger brackets).
I took two of the four-notch looms and ran them back by the distributor. The other two hit the shelf in the shop. |

I think I get what your sayin. Did you route them under the headers or over the valve covers? Got any pics?

Between the collectors and straight up. I never route anything between the exhaust and block if I can help it. It's hell on any sort of wire.

Thats how mine are right now but I can't keep the damn things off the headers. So now I have a pretty bad miss. Kinda wanted it to run right lol.

That's how mine were routed on the old 305. Zip tied in pairs and went down between the large gaps in header primaries to some 90* boots. _________________

Mine are basically like that but not all the way to the distributor. I'll try that once I get it back on the road again and see if it helps. I have a 383 but its the same thing pretty much. Thanks for the pics
