so for those of you who were around for the Crew's dyno gathering on saturday night, know I drank a bit too much and had to be sent home. Evidently, I got quite violent in the car, with the friends who were good enough to take me home. It got so bad I spent the night in the drunk-tank.

(as a caveat, I thank paul and tony for being great friends and putting up with my insufferable ass.)

long story short, I've had a alcohol abuse problem for quite some time. Today I went to an AA treatment program here in Portland, Serenity lane. I have two meetings next week with treatment counselors.

I need the crew's help to keep me straight, and keep me sober. I'll post up with their prognosis.

so everyone's aware, I've done an alcohol treatment before, not on my own volition.

Simply put, I know you guys like to party, drink beers, or whatever, but I need to keep things sober, and chances are I won't be attending crew gatherings for a while, just for safety's sake.

Mike, I'm sorry to have caused so much trouble last Sat. Its your home and you should feel safe there. I'm sorry for making you feel unsafe there, even for a second.

Good luck Petalman. I'm rooting for you. I'm sure it's a hard step to take, but well worth it. Anytime you need help, no doubt there will be a ton of us around to lend a hand; vocally, socially, emotionally or whatev.

I wasn't there to see what went on, but I have to say it took some guts for you to go online and say what you did. My hat is off to you.

Good luck.

Chris, I am really glad to finally at least you say something. Obviously some of us have known you had a problem for a long time. I am glad to see that you are actually taking the initiative to do what is best for you.

Like Tony, if you want to hang out or anything, just let me know.

Thanks a lot everyone for you kind words and support. You guys are awesome.

I got an Appt tomorrow morning, where I get asked the real tough questions about this issue, and we figure out what kind of treatment/recovery is gonna work best for me.
