That's a 2-series carrier, so it can be used with 2.73 and 3.08 GM rear end gears only. Or you can buy aftermarket gears in any ratio for a 2-series carrier, but that costs extra money.

That's the dreaded govlock posi unit. I was advised to stay clear of those before I spent the $$$ and bought the Eaton unit I have now.

Didn't see the picture... but a gov lock posi came in some early S-10s. They're commonly known as the "grenade" posi lol.

Think the nick name says it all.

I have a used auburn posi unit. it has a 3 series carrier for 3.23 and up gears, and works with 28 spline axles. I was going to put it on ebay, since i picked up a new one and dont need this one anymore. id want around $100.00 for it. its in good shape, had my mechanic check it out. he confirmed it was in good shape. i have pics let me know
