Nice. The 3.4's have the knock sensor bung on the block don't they? Other than that an extra bung it should be a straight swap right?

From what I read it a straight swap.

Has the same wirng as my 3.1 so should be no problem

I will be selling a 3.1 that has new headgaskets timing chain rear main seals freeze plugs and good injectors. Has good compression.

Update:

Got Headgasket Set and New bolts for it.
ALso got a good set of heads that I will be using. They had good compression.

Going to oreder oil pan gasket and rear main seal, timing chain and gasket kit freeze plugs. Will also check the bearing while I am at it.

Removed all the 3.4 stuff

Does anyone knw the size of freeze plugs ona 3.1 / 3.4

Any other performance mods? Or just the swap?

I'll be starting mine around summer.

Ok, cool...I'm going to go the performance route. For what little there is for N/A without going the hybrid.

Well, I hope you have fun with the extra torque!

I remember seeing in the GMPP catalog that they no longer offered (well, haven't for like ten years) the 2.8/3.1 for camaros/birds/s10s and that GM offered an "upgrade" kit which included the 3.4 Kind of cool if you ask me. Good luck!

Cops said that they were going between 40-5o mph. Driver was drunk and passenger was hurt pretty bad.

Yeah. They stock the 3.4. So does GM. Are there 2.8/3.1s available anymore?

There are several write-ups of this swap on TGO if you need any help. I'd love to do it as well if I was planning on keeping the V6 in my 'Maro. Wink
