You bet! If we really buckle down we could probably have you in serious contention for the 2011 Darwin awards!

Well I was thinking it would make a nice "turboprop" type of arrangement. A jet engine driving the wheels instead of turning a prop.
That would give a horsepower reading on the dyno and should increase the 0-61 speed a bit. Would decrease top speed a little though, but above 500 mph its all the same anyway.
I wonder if that engine has water injection, when I was in the USAF the KC 135s we had used J57 engines with water injection and those things would shake the ground for miles, and smoke lol.

Somebody posted up something like that awhile ago, I think it was Brandon. Guy had a turboprop jet engine out of some old helicopter in a Chevy truck. He had figured out some way of getting power from the output shaft through the 700R4 in the truck.
Most jet cars are literally jets with free-wheels, brakes, and some sort of parachute. |

The jet powered dragsters do a 1/4 mile in like 5 seconds, and they are sure going a tad bit more than 60 when they get to the end. _________________

The ones I've personally seen.... they are slow as sh1t off the line. They do about 270mph and just under 8 seconds.
And by slow, I mean slow compaired to a piston engine running 7's at 200+. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I've never seen one in real life, but I've seen a video of a 5.3 second pass. Of course I've also seen a video of a top fuel dragster do 4.8 sec. So yes pistons seem to be faster. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |
