well today the camaro started to make a thud sound when i take off hard at all if i take off slowly its fine but the harder i take off the louder the thud is. it sounds like its coming from the rear end but i put it in reverse and did it, and it sounded/felt like it was coming from the trans. the thing is fine other than take off. i can punch the gas as hard as i can when moving and its fine only when i am at a complete stopped then take off. all i can think off is maybe somthing with the drive shaft or maybe a trans mount? so let me know what you guys think _________________

Check your front torque arm mount. The bolt in mine backed out a bit last weekend and it made the same type of noise. The mount is on the transmission tail shaft.
Trans mount could do it too. A 5-speed shifter would lift through the floor with a loose/broken mount, but auto would just make noise as the trans hits the underside on acceleration. _________________ 92 Camaro

Wisdom. Cheap and easy. Don't let it go on too long.
Mine clunked when I ripped my front torque arm mount out of the transmission case, but I don't think you have the power to make that happen. In that case it was the torque arm banging the bottom of the car. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

| Get the Energy Suspension part. They don't crap out like the rubbers do. Schmucks used to carry them and price match Summit, no idea if they still do after the buyout. |

ok i just went and looked at it and at first i was confused becauses everything looked fine (trans mount, torque bar mount, all the suspension and everything looked great. but then the i noticed the most obvious thing ever. the nut the holds the trans mount to the cross bar was completly missing well at least it will be super cheap and easy to fix lol _________________

Is the trans mount stock? I'd be really surprised if you jacked up on the trans and it completely separated from the xmember... If you're under there might as well change it. _________________

Mine started making noise in the rear after replacing the fuel pump. Only on the passenger side. I shook the rear wheel and you can hear it wobbling around somewhere inside...could I have possibly not tightened something all the way? |

| If it is the trans mount fixing it soon would be the best. I put mine off on my Z28 back in high school too long and the floor pan had some nice dings in it afterwords. |

Haha, not all the way. I need to jack it up and tighten it down. Checked it today and it was moving around in there...about 1-3mm of play. |

| I could imagine you might hog out the holes by letting that stuff be loose like that. I'd jump on it and tighten those down asap. |

| Just did. Still loose, but not as bad, was loose before, the car just needs new suspension. |
