And you all know the rest. Was out trying to get the dash board hooked up and bolted down in the 74. So I can install a gauge set before I try to fire up that new motor.
Well, I go to try and move a heater cable and it seems froze.. get to looking, oh joy I think theres more stuffing in the heater then in any of my seats. So I start sucking that out with a vacuum. Discover I can't get to it all. End up having to remove the inner fender yet again to access the heater motor. Get that out, still cant get it all. Loosen up the inside heater box, loosen up the dash board again.. Finally get heater box out and of course the only reason I never noticed the heater core leaking is all the stuffing thats soaking up the antifreeze. Sooo, time to wait for a new heater core, and since i'm at it i'll replace the blower motor too. Meanwhile the car is in a million pieces again!!! |

Same old... got the parts last night was busy installing them this afternoon. My gawd does rat piss stink. I don't understand how a piece of steel can absorb the smell either. I scrubbed it, washed it, soaked it in acid, dried it with a heater, wire brushed it etc.. Still stinks. I hope it eventually goes away, this is the heater we're talking about.
Anyway, thats the step forward, now the step back. I had the heater core installed ok, and was busy installing the new blower motor.. went to plug it in and the electrical connection fell off. Sooo... another trip to longview to return it before I can continue. A weekends work with it and i'm further behind then I started! |
