|
|
Went to pick up a third gen 91 Firebird only had 116000 miles on it.
Had a great paint job and very nice clean interior. 3.1 motor that the guy ran out of Oil. So I am going to install the motor that I have (3.1) My son starts drivers education in a few months.
Told him he had to help with the repairs and upkeep.
So that makes 4 third gens in the family. And they all run. _________________ kurfbird

I think I've honestly done as much stupid s*** in V6 cars as V8's.
Bruce, you just got a thing for the 3.1 motors, don't you? I gotta say though, the one you sold me has been a champ. I am not kind to it in the least. |

Just got lucky on this one. I mean 300.00 for a car that jsut needs a motor and some minor repair. If he doe snot keep his grades up
I will fix it then it will be up for sale. _________________ kurfbird

Cheers to you & holding the son accountable!
I did the same thing and it worked wonders...crap grades = No Social life, and no ride!
Stick with it, your son will work harder then usual to keep the privelage.
My son held his grades, got his senior project done...and still had time to cruise, it worked well for everyone!
Good Parent Award to You! _________________

Jeez, I paid $800 for my first car. 1980 ford fairmont with a 2.3 Auto. Paid cash! And I was 17. Back in 1996 that was a lot of money.
A V6 car is like a midget fighting you. Total underdog. It wins, it wins. It loses, it still wins! Poor little V6. _________________ E30

That's on par for the condition your car is in. Nice interior, decent paint, no mechanical problems (until you blew the transmission up ). |

The most I paid for a 3rdgen was $4500 for my '91 RS in 2000. It was an LO3 car with an auto, all power options, leather and the body and paint were in good condition. The least I paid was $0 for my '84 Z28 with an L69, rebuilt 700R4, and 3.73s! Just one of many 3rdgens I wish I still owned. |

Ok, got me thinking of all my 3rdgens, what I paid for them and their fates;
'82 Camaro SC 2.8L carb $3200 in 1990 - wrecked
'83 Camaro Z28 5.0L LG4 $2700 in 1993 - sold
'85 Camaro Z28 5.0L TPI $2700 in 1998 - sold
'91 Camaro RS 5.0L TBI $4500 in 2000 - parted out after I blew the engine
'84 Camaro Z28 5.0L L69 $0! in 2004 - sold
'89 Camaro RS 2.8L MPFI $400 in 2006 - current project
'86 Firebird T/A 5.0L TPI $900 in 2008 - current project
This excludes my '68, '80, and '94 Camaros. |
