I was coming up through Oakland CA thursday at 4:00 pm when my GPS navigation decided to to hose me over and forget to mention the exit to take. Right as I realise this I'm on a bridge in the far right lane, narrow lanes and rough as hell, when a little box van truck side swipes my truck, and I'm going 60 mph. Scared the sh*t out of me and turned my drivers side mirror way out forwards. Can't see in the mirror, and by missing my exit I was heading for the Bay Bridge which would send me over into San Fransico. Had to make a couple of brail lanechanges to get off the freeway enough to stop and get out to fix the mirror and then figure out how to get back to the right freeway.
I wish I could have gotten a look at the driver of the other truck, he must have been pretty surprised judging by his manuvering and escaping after he hit me. |

Had a similar night experience a few weeks ago on southbound I5. For some reason, I failed to see that the left lane was closed ahead, so I move into it to get around some slower traffic. Then I see the cones that were set up start angling into my lane and the a**hole in the pickup next to me decides to run me into the cones at 60+ mph. Fortunately, a little brake and downshift put the guy just in front of me and I was able to move safely over to my right without hitting any cones or vehicles. Nice time to find out that 11 feet isn't wide enough for two vehicles. _________________ 92 Camaro
