I just converted my Bird from 700r4 to T5. The whole thing is pretty easy, just make sure to mark your flywheel and pressure plate so you can assemble them in the same position. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes but why not It can't hurt. Also, be prepared to catch any fluid that may run out of the tailshaft of the gearbox after you pull out the driveshaft.

Be sure to do a few sweet burn outs and enjoy a beer after you're done.

do you have to do a break in period for the clutch? or is it good to go?

I've never heard of one but I imagine driving it a couple of miles before getting too hard on it wouldn't hurt. I don't think they really have a wear pattern to develop but if you're using the old flywheel there might be some wear grooves on it and taking it easy might help the new clutch conform to them.

It will be touchy at first. You'll have to feather it more than your old clutch. Don't dump it right away, save that for a few hundred miles down the road. Upshifting often will help break it in faster.

I could be incorrect, but I've always been told to go easy on it for about 2-300 miles of stop-and-go traffic and then after that it should be okay to stand up to aggressive driving.

Different brands have different break ins. Especially aftermarket clutches.

Make sure your flywheel is surfaced. The break in is for the disc to seat to the fresh flywheel and pressureplate surfaces.
