Throttle body gasket (should be able to buy an entire TPI top-end kit)
CopperCoat
Ultra Black
Icehouse
Run LT1 injectors if you can. Work better than the stock L98's IMHO.
Get RemFlex gaskets for the exhaust if you're running headers. Those things rock.
Oh and no antifreeze in new heads/intake until you know they are not leakers. |

You can find a dealer from their home page.

CopperCoat is some cool tacky spray stuff you use on shim-style headgaskets. I use it on the composite ones too, but technically I don't think you're supposed to.
Ultra Black is Permatex oil-proof RTV. Use it instead of the cork end gaskets when you install the intake manifold. Also put a thin bead of it around the water jacket ports on the intake gasket itself. |

ahh, Ive only done 2 head jobs and never used copper coat. When I get gaskets, I'll post them and let me know if its a must with them.
Ultra Black, If I get a whole top end gasket set, I "think" it comes with this. If not, Ive got some left over from my v6 days. |

I tend to toss the "included" RTV from those sets in the same place I put the cork end gaskets. |

Don't use the copper coat on the composite ones. It's meant for the shim style.
I'd definitely use the 1094 felpro shim gaskets. Since your engine wont be zero decked if it's factory. The composite gaskets are way thicker increasing cubic inches a hair, but also increasing pinging potential. And Definitely use the Copper on the shim.
Don't use the rubbers the intake kit gives you for the china wall, use "THE RIGHT STUFF" It's fantastic silicone stuff. Run a 1/4" bead from gasket to gasket.
If you clean the heads and intake well enough you don't need ANY goo around the waterjackets. It just makes it 10 times more PITA to clean the next time it comes off.
IMHO you don't need to change injectors. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |
