This has been done on lots of boards and made stickies, but havent seen it here. Start off by posting up a link to a high quality vid and or sound bite of the exhaust of your car, followed by a full description of the parts that make up your exhaust.
I plan to post up a comparison vid by the end of the weekend of my 87 IROC with SLP 2 on the left, headers and Random Tech cat and my wifes car with SLP headers, Catco cat, and Borla cat back with the largest opening plate. Both at idle and at full throttle.
If you guys are interested. |

I don't have anything worthy of sound recording well enough! I'll give it a shot though. Will be a few weeks. Motor's coming out for a freshen and checkup. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I'm a day or two from firing my motor with the fuel injection and open shorty headers. I will definitely take full, 1080 HD video with high quality audio.
Should be good times.
No videos with the muffler, it was a stock 1984 GM muffler with "cat delete." I do have a video of my first start on the carby 350 with open shorties though.

I've got an old vid of a freeway pull that didn't sound too bad... but I can't rip sound out of a vid myself...
Would be a cool thing to have on the site. _________________

I'd be interested, haven't posted the dual flowmaster 40 setup yet! Might have to jump on that tomorrow before I put car down and swap in a posi rear. Might be the last time I hear the 40s, too. Just way too low _________________ 1991 Camaro RS - 454 BBC |

| Sounds like my neighbor, I'm sure if I get my Firebird running, fire it up, rev it (lots), it would piss him off. He doesn't understand life outside the city. Makes me wonder why he moved out here? |

Does anyone have my video of the first time I fired the 454? The one where its just frame rails and the motor. It was hosted on this site, then we moved. Now I can't find the original. Sounded just like hot for teacher! |

What the hell is up with 80 degrees and rain? This aint Florida! My brother grabbed a couple of short vids in HD of both of my cars at idle and driving by, but the sound quality wasnt very good. Camera needs to be at ground level not 6' above the ground. My brother is 6'6.
We will try again tomorrow.
Bolth cars have 1 3/4 SLP headers and after market cat. The T-Top 87 T-Top coupe has a SLP 2OTL cat back exhaust and the convertible has a Borla cat back. The 87 has a zz4 with trick flow heads and the 1990 has something larger than a 305, either a 350 with 305 heads or a 383 with 305 heads.
Video will be posted tomorrow. |
