Lol you don't need to buy anything but a chunk of straight exhaust pipe the right diameter and weld it where the cat goes. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

don't waist your time with that.
As for the cat thing, you would need to know lenght of the pipe included, and it would also need to have the correct ball flange on it to attach to the current Y-pipe.
I couldn't find more info on the link you posted. |

There is no bolt in cat. The Y-Pipe bolts to one end of the cat. Then the cat is welded to the rest of the exhaust system.
No way to remove without welding of some sort. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

| some are just a slip-fit and a clamp though, it may not be welding, depending on if it has been replaced or not. |

| buy a generic cat it will be like 70 bucks. Have the old one cut out and the new one welded in a muffler shop for like 20 bucks. |

If you read his initial post, the whole point is to "ditch the cat."
:O)
Greg, do you need a cat for emissions or are you exempt? _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

| Sorry I thought you were trying to replace the cat. Just cut out the cat. Measure the length of pipe/cat you just cut out call, it distance X. Now go get a straight piece of tubing from the exhaust shop have it expanded on both ends. Tell them you want it to have length X inside of the two expansions. Then you can unbolt the exhaust, install that piece of pipe using a few U clamps. |

Manifolds or headers? If you've got headers, you'll need a full 90* set.
I liked Taylor Spiro-Cores, and ran them on both cars, however the set on the Monterey went to crap on me when I pulled them off for the headgasket slap last weekend. Four of them came apart on the factory crimped end (I got universals, where you have to install the cap end). While recrimping them I noticed that the factory did a horrible job of trimming a crimping all the terminals to the wire. That's only one set, but it did tick me off a little. Still work good after I redid all of them though.
BTW, if you have a local Baxters, go down and ask for the Blue Streak cap and rotor. Same copper contacts as MSD, but cheaper. Or buy Summit brand. My Dad runs one and it seems on par with the MSD stuff. |

if you really need a cat make sure it is a high flow cat. don't mess with the restrictive stock replacements. _________________
