my car never seems to ever be completly fixed for at least a day...my car kept pulling to the right so i had my alignment done twice, and that wasnt the problem so they said it might be that the tire was bad they checked that and rotated them and it still pulls, so now they are saying that its something in my steering or front end? anyone know what might be going on?

You need to take it somewhere else.

Ask around friends and at work for a a good recommendation for a shop.

If it's aligned it shouldn't pull.

I'm thinking this one. Pull the front end off the ground and start wiggling steering stuff.

Same here, I have the same problem (have no idea why I haven't changed it yet) and it's the idler arm.

It could also be a stuck caliper. Are the brakes recently done? I would of hoped that the "alignment" people would have noticed a sloppy steering.

Agreed.

If the caliper was making it pull that bad, it'd be smoking I'd think. Unless it only pulls under braking?

That's understandable, but they aren't telling you what's worn? Do these guys not want to make $$?

Oh, they tell ya. Ask if you want them to fix it for x amount.

But I agree with travis for most part. Ive been told to check the LINKAGE, it has to be on the ground. Grab next to each joint and see if that joint wiggles.

Now for the ball joints. Jack it up and have it on stands under the front "frame rails". Then take a board, pry bar, etc. And "pry" against the tire while someone watchs under the car to see if the spidle goes up, but control arm stays in place.

But most of all, if the shop cant tell you whats wrong, its not a good shop.

The idler arm bolts onto the passanger side frame rail, in front of the sway bar, then it attaches to the steering.

It should twist but not move left-right. Again, something the alignment shop should have noticed.

Sounds like you need a new center link.

Big channel locks. Clamp the tie rod to the center link. If you get more than 1/16" play replace the joint. Just don't clamp on the Zerk grease fitting.
