and have been bumming the salvage yards a bit to much . now i know alot of the 4th gen parts are direct bolt on , is the front suspension that way ? like if i pull the front corners (strut, brake set-up,control arm) would it bolt up without to much labor ? and also i found a yard with a complete rear end with disc brakes for like 150 would it be cheaper to go that way since the rear in my car has to be rebuilt any way , or would it be cheaper to take the read drum set-up out of my parts car and retro fit the disc brake set up ?
im just hoping this temp agency i have an interview with can find me a job soon so i can acually afford the parts i need _________________

Front suspension is completely different between our cars, and 4th gens. Don't even try, it won't work, at all.
Rear-ends, the 4th-gen rear is about 2" wider per side, it will bolt right in, but your wheels will stick out 2" further. |

| The 307 wasnt an awful engine, it just was chevy's entry level v/8 of the time. I would think it actually has more performance potential then a 305, because of the larger bore. When it says chevy never made a performance version they mean it ONLY came with a 2 barrel carb and yesterdays version of the peanut cam. For those 2 reasons most people looked down upon it. |

You need 2" for 5x4.75" adaptors, you can't use a spacer. Skulte.com, or ebay.
You don't want wagon wheels, they suck, and look horible on our cars.
(Besides, yours won't look like mine at all, or Ians even, since our cars are lowered so far)
I'll also add, spacers aren't all that cheap, even the ebay ones will run your $3500-$400.

Hey, FYI, I'm still looking for the metal bracket in the trans tunnel on fourthgens for the ebrake cable. If you want to grab it I'll pay.
2" seems too far tucked in the fenders IMHO. I like when the wheels/tires are even with the fenders so I like 2.5" spacers. If you're not lowered then you won't have fender rub issues like I do. _________________

the problem with 2.5" spacers on the front, is your wheel centerline changes, so your scrub radius radius changes, along with a lot of the front geometry.
That said, I am running 2" up front (plus the extra 1/8" of spacing from the brakes, and a 2.25" rear spacer.
That said, if I had a bird, I would run GTA wheels. The only reason I really went with the wheels I did, was for brake clearance, and I could get better tires than I could in 15". With the 16's, you have good tire choices still. |

off the point I know, but I see in the description that those spacers are made of 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum.
When I was in the Air Force doing aircraft structural repair we NEVER used 6061 for anything structural EVER. It is too hard and subject to cracking. 2024 T3 was the ticket. However, it is too soft for automotive use.
ok Hijack over. I agree on the cross lace wheels. they look to me like doileys that grandma would make. only my opinion. |
