So I fried my tranny yesterday at the track...
So I did my burnout, got the tires nice and sticky. Cut a good light, pulled a 1.9 sixty foot but it felt like the tranny was slipping. Got into second pullin' pretty good. at the 1000 foot, it would not shift into third and I had to let up a bit and it went into forth.
I got my slip, 13.6 @ 102 which sucked because I uped my boost and was expecting better
On the way to the pits I noticed the revs dropped when I put it into first gear. The car now revs in first gear freely and will not grab unless the car is moving and even then it still revs. 1-2 shift seems okay, 2-3 does not exist, I have to let up the throttle to 0% TPS for it to go into fourth and it drives and the motor doesn't rev.
All in all, my tranny is pretty fried. I guess putting 16 PSI boost through a stock tranny isn't a good idea! _________________ 1998 Grand Prix GT | 12.91 @ 103 - Sold/Retired

The trans in the GTP's are the weakest link.
From the last time I was on CGP, the intense trannys were fairly crappy. Dunno if they have redone them, or someone better has come along. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

ZZPerformance has one that will hold up to almost 850 wheel horsepower so I think I'll be good there. But I'm going with a TripleEdgePerformance tranny...the guy specializes in 4T65E's especially. _________________ 1998 Grand Prix GT | 12.91 @ 103 - Sold/Retired

Well there's your trans. Everything is better with a 6speed.
I thought I remember seeing v8 archie put one behind an ls7 so they might be able to handle some power, right? |
