|
|
Have a new base intake in, and plenium coming, both are quite dirty. I want to clean the base before it goes on, and clean the plenium before I attempt to polish.
I have tried this electrolysis before, didnt work. But I am guessing I did something wrong.
I want to try again. I pulled up this site...http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tools/Electrolysis.htm Now some intresting things. It says not to use copper to send juice to the part in the bucket? Why not, I thought it was a great conducter? Also says to have the part hanging.. why? If the tub is plastic and does not conduct eletricty, IMO it shouldnt matter?
Also, it says add use "washing soda". WTF is that? Different lingo for different parts of the country? _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

| go to napa and get some alluminum brightener. I just got some a week or so ago and have used it on everything i have made of aluminum. This stuff is insane. Be really careful if you do get it not to get it on you, or breathe it in. I got a little wiff and it rocked my world for a minute or two. In the end my wheels and runner tubes and base looked like they were just cast. |

| When I had my TPI apart last time I sandblasted the manifold, plenum, and runners. Fast, easy, and cleaned them up nice. |
