Not sure where it's located in the van, but it sounds like the flasher is shot. The directionals and hazards each use their own flasher can, located somewhere under the dash and probably near the fuse block.

In my Fords the flasher is right in the fuse panel.

well turns out it was just a fuses Shrug but ya now the turn signals work so now it wont suck so much to drive Laughing , plus i was able to wash it up today wich was not fun cause its been siting under a tree for over a year and there was so much stuff on the roof that when i was driving it home my brother driving behind me dodging sticks and leaves flying off the back which i wasnt happy about when i found that out cause he was drivin my car Rolling Eyes. but i was checking everything out with the van today and it looks like someone stuffed a bunch of rags and a can of WD-40 in the engine bay so that the battery couldn't move around Shocked i also found a quart of oil in there.

but anyway to my next question, the van hasnt moved in the last year other than when i drove it to my house and i just found out it needs a emissions test done before we can get it registered. and i was just wondering want could we do to make sure it passes i know first off that year old gas needs to get out and some fresh stuff in but thats about it.also i know for the emmisons test they always stuck somthing in the cigarette lighter, but the cigarette lighter dosent work so will that be a problem?

the cig lighter is usually wired up to the same fuse as the doors or radio (atleast on gm).

They likely power there machines off that port. I dunno, dont have emissions test here.

must be different in washington, but in oregon they don't do that.

let DEQ figure it out. they can't fail you for a bad cigarette lighter

as far as pass tips, warm it up real well. if you fail, tune it up (plugs, wires, cap etc...)

Should give it a full tune up and an oil change. Hydrocarbons store in oil and when the combustion event happens some of that is passed into the exhaust.

And yeah, get it good and warm. A 10-15min freeway trip and then straight to emissions is what I do. Don't turn the van off unless they ask. You want it as hot as possible without overheating.

There are two power wires for the stereo. A key on, and a hot all the time. If the Hot all the time wire isn't connected, fuse blown, etc, there wont be any power keeping the presets.

Is this a factory or aftermarket radio? I've seen lots of hacked aftermarket installs. Hell, I've even seen one with the key on wire hooked to the lights. So the only way the radio comes on is by turning on the parking lights!

Radio doesn't have a constant 12V source for the memory. If it's an aftermarket radio, most will use a yellow fused wire for constant (battery - hot at all times) 12V. A red fused wire would be for switched (ignition) 12V - turns the radio on/off with the key.

If the cigarette lighter fuse is blown the radio may reset. Radio uses the lighter power for the memory power.

I'd replace the fuses but don't put the cigarette lighter back in the socket. Mine kept blowing a fuse until i just tossed the lighter part and left the empty socket (they are notorious for shorting out and blowing fuses). I haven't blown a fuse since.

well i checked all the fuses and there was another one out replaced it and now the lighter works and i have some more dash lights i didnt know about Laughing. also today got whats left of the interior (gutted to haul carpet) cleaned up, got the spare tire off and one that has tread on Rolling Eyes and got a 3 day pass so i can drive it to emissions with out geting pulled over. and when driving around had the turn signal fuse blow on me Mad so 2 fuses later i find that under the momo shift nob Rolling Eyes there are bare wires so every time i shifted into gear i blow a fuse so put some tape on thoses for now but i have no clue what thoses are for Shrug
