Hey guys, i just started using my 91 bird as a daily driver, and ive noticed i get to work 10 minutes sooner lol. my 96 corolla crapped out on me and till i get the dough to fix it, the birds gonna be my daily. i was going through my papers from when i bought the car, and ive only put 11000 miles on it since 05. figure id rack some more up there before gas gets so expensive again i cant afford to cruise her daily. who else on here cruises their thirdgen daily? how many miles have you racked up since you got the car? im at 145,000

Think Dewey's gonna have most of us beat.

Hell I've only put 5700 miles on my car since Sept of.... '06 IIRC.

I daily drive mine. Many times I wish I had a cheap Honda or something to use as a DD so the Camaro wouldn't get so much wear and tear. I put over 10k miles a year on it. Currently, it's at a little more than 150k.

My 92 is my daily and has 233,000 or so. I put on 200+ per week and drive only 1/2 way to work. The 89 just went over 200,000 during the last dyno weekend and has less than 3,000 since last Sept.

Mine was daily driven for a lot of years. I bought it in 98 with 68k on it. I have 245,000 on it now. The mileage has really gone down in the last couple of years though. I was putting a good 30k/year on it for a while.

Daily to Lacey and back, a little over 300 miles per week. I'd rather not do the math on that one since the car was a nice low 82K when I bought it.

Way Old School here...Original Owner, I ordered the Shark in 1983 from Weston Pontiac here in Gresham.
It was the daily driver for years. I drove it on vacation to Cali, Vegas, and loved it!
And then i got married and then had kids, it went in the garage under the cover, and i became one of the SUV group! Shocked
So in 95 I parked it in the garage under the cover, and that was the last time it was registered.
Well until recently, The Shark has new life, new tags, and i am totally digging it again! Very Happy
The last true taste of my bachelorhood! Laughing

Well in amongst the many months of down time, I've put a hair under 100k on my bird in the last 4 years.

And yes, it is my daily when it's functioning. I'd feel like I was neglecting it if I didn't drive it!

Mine is kinda a daily driver over the summer. The past 2 winters since I owned the vert it has been taken apart.

The old hardtop was full daily all year around. Since its a 20mile round trip to work n back. I doubt I am in the high mile club.

1988 Pontiac GTA

PostPosted: Fri Apr 17, 2009 6:37 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

my white 1986 firebird has been daily driven since i bought in in 2002 with about 7 months worth of exception. when i first got my GTA it became my daily for the better part of six months, and now because i can't afford to re-register the thing, it sits in the driveway while the GTA is again pulling daily duty. it has a hair under 200,000 on it. i bought it with 114,000. it was originally purchased winter of 85 from Weston Pontiac in Gresham. i have the original invoice.

the GTA has got about 20K on it in three years. i bought it with 135 on the clock and it is up to 155. it was originally purchased in 1988 in Honolulu HI.

i have been daily driving a thirdgen for six years. Smile

Lol, I've put 30k on mine in the last 8 years. Luckily I've lived close to where I work. 10 miles a day is a heavy day!

I daily drive mine. But since The speedo and odometer don't work I really have no idea how many miles I've put on it. I typically put 20 miles a day max on it, thats 5 miles to work home for lunch and back to work again and of course back home. That isn't every day though. most of the time only ten miles per day. I have had three long trips one to dyno one to Chehalis and one to Moses lake and a handful of the 30 mile type. I'd say I average less than 200 per week over the last year.
Odometer showed 126K when I bought it.

Just rolled over 201k miles a bit ago. Daily driver and only put up about 100-200 miles a week depending on how nice it is. I'll be getting another car, hopefully another camaro so I can have my own car for work, when I find a job, that is. haha
