Me and a friend took our quads for a little ride today, followed an old stagecoach trail clear down into California before we turned around. I'll say this, 63 miles on a four wheeler in rough terrain is alot. Found some cool places and some weird places too, like when your out in the middle of the boonies and find a real old cemetary. Several had been there for over a hundred years and some weren't even marked, just could see grave sized depressions in the ground.

Robbers Rock

Cemetary

This head stone was cool. Somebody made it out of one of the rocks found all around the area.

I love those trips when you stumble across weird stuff in the middle of nowhere.
I can only imagine how much cooler it is when on a quad instead of in a car and stuck to roads or car allowing paths.

Where's that at?

Cool stuff. Always nicer to experience sites like that without tourists to spoil it for you Smile

Ummm, good question. Middle of the Cascade mountains, along the Klamath River, south of the Oregon - California border. Laughing

All I know is that I had never been up there so I marked the pickup on my GPS and we road south until we got to a 1/2 tank of gas, then turned around and headed back north.

the cool/weird thing is those graves had flowers on them. even if the flowers are fake its still cool cause someone took the time to put them on a over 100 year old grave

I was wondering about the flowers too. They look a little fresh for a 104 year old grave.

That's pretty cool Rod.

Wish I had a quad I could go exploring on, I love finding those type of things off the laden path.

It was weird, so remote and unmarked, plus 4 wheel drive only access. There was a marker as recent as Jan 2008 in there, but the ground hadn't been dug up that recent.
