so i was hopeing to use a circle cutter and then just grind out the oval shape.

but i cant seem to find a metal hole cutter that goes in a drill.

any advise/tips to cutting this area?

also how did you guys cut the tunnels shifter hole? from the bottom or the top?

i have the donnar car still so i can probably take the position of the shifter hole from it and mark it on the top side of mine and cut it out huh?

thanks. Almost their!!!

I just used a hole saw to cut my master cylinder hole and a cutoffwheel for the shifter.

just a bi metal hole saw on a drill?

i dont have any air unfourtunatly and i dont have a electric cut off wheel i could probably pick up a harbor freight one for cheep that will work.

i have a saw-all but i would need to start the hole with a series of drill holes ro something.

Yup.

And a cut-off wheel for the shifter hole.

I'm so tired of seeing jagged botched 5spd installs! Cut it CLEAN! Then you wont cut yourself when you put the shifter in!

After I cut my hole I took some tiny black vacuum line, slit it down the side, squeezed rtv inside it and pushed it on the edge of the hole. Makes a nice grommit. Smile

used a cut off wheel on a drill to start all 4 sides of the tunnle and then a sawzall to finish it purned out nice and staight. looks good.

bought a 1.5 inch hole saw cut the master hole and used some griding buts to oval it out a little bit.

got everything bolted up tranny in and come to find out the master that was seeming kinda weak on the way home took a big crap and only was randomly supplying pressure.

haha not it dosent at all so i tryed a new slave but that didnt help so i get to take out the booster again tommorow and get a new master in their.

other then that this swap has gone very well.
