Holy cow! After such a deep freeze this winter it finally warmed up last week and it seems it will hold this coming week. The ground hasn't thawed yet so the rain is just making a bog out of the yard. But I was really pleased to enjoy some breezes through the house yesterday!
But this is Illinois so you don't get warm weather without.... you got it.... tornados. Had one yesterday in the county just north of us. I remember now why winter wasn't such a bad time of year. |

| Yeah, tornados are some serious stuff. When I was in colorado, we had lots of warnings and stuff. I was luckily never close enough to see one really do its thing though. |

tornados are awesome. They are one of the things I miss about living in Oklahoma. I sat through the October 4 1998 outbreak that spawned 19 tornados in the same night stretching 100 miles between Oklahoma city and Tulsa. had one crap out less than one mile from my house. Was completely cool. Another time there was one that went through town (mostly trailer parks and truck stops) they were calling it out on the radio block by block. It was a live play by play tornado. cool again. and to see them and hear them... ah thats just sweet. But then I really do like hard core thunderstorms etc.
Even the december 07 storms here were nice. 130 mph winds, trees falling like dominoes, one on my house one on my motorcycle. Perfect excuse to buy not one but two chainsaws
*note I'm talking about the storms not the destruction and causalities. |
