On the 15th im planning on going up to pacific raceways it will be their first open test and tune of the year if weather permits(which so far the 15th is looking good).

Ill be their and would love to meet any of the more local Cascade Crew if anyone is interested.

Plus it gets old running against all the imports that come it would be nice to see some more older american cars.

Open Test 'N' Tune Information

Open to All Classes and Sanctioning Bodies.....
Street Legal/Street Tires, Imports/Sports Compact, Junior Dragsters and all vehicles with slicks.
All vehicles must pass NHRA Technical Inspection.

Pacific Raceways Accepts Visa, MC, Cash and Checks (must have Valid NHRA Membership Number to write a check)

Gates Open: 8:00am on March 1st, 15th and 29th, September 4th and October 10th, 11th and 18th
Gates Open: 4:00pm on all other dates

Racing Fees:
Car & Driver: $30.00
Competition Number (required to race): $10.00 (one time yearly fee)

Spectators:
Adults: $10.00
Children (Ages 7-14): $4.00
Children (Ages 6 and under): Free

Concession stands will be open.
Sunoco Racing Fuel available (Visa or Mastercard only)

The opening weekend at Pacific is going to be stupid busy, but barring any more snow, I'll probably roll down there. Are you heading in early?

OK guys. Never been there. Sounds like it might be fun. Is it just the drag course or both the road and drag? A qucik rundown on what goes on there from someone would be nice. I think I will try to make it, wether or not i race my car is a different story Shocked

its just the drag strip its really fun to run your car you pay the 40 bucks to get it then you run roughly 1 time per hour depending on how bussy it is. you line up with a random other racer and see what u run

One other ? The NHRA inspection require anything unusual , like 5 point harness or anything like that.

Battery tie-down
Funtioning seat belts
coolant overflow tank
no fluids leaking

Make sure you are wearing LONG pants. Shorts and flip-flops, and you won't be driving down the tack.

Those are going to be the big things. Just clean out all the loose stuff in your car, and make sure you battery is secured well.

Since you have a TBI car, if the hassle you about the trottle return spring, point out that it is an EFI car, and it has an integrated throttle return spring in the throttle body.

I would assume that is the stuff that SIR will look for, since I have never raced at that track, I am not sure what their tech inspections are like.

PR is going to have way better tech than PIR. PIR is kind of a Joke in the official Drag Racing world. No offense Skyler lol. There are things that I see gotten away with because it's "street legal drags" than at Woodburn or PR.

I agree paul. But looking at the NHRA quick reference (no book with me), for 14.0 or slower the only things needed are.

Auto Trans Reverse Lockout
Liquid Overflow
Pressurized Bottles DOT (1800) (Not applicable, since he doesn't have nitrous, or CO2 for an air-shifter)
Taillight

So, then the rest of it is general compition stuff, like lenght of rubber fuel lines, having all your lug nuts, etc.

Basically, make sure you're not leaking oil or antifreeze, yank on your battery to see if the tiedown is holding, wear jeans and sneakers, take all the spare crap out of your car, and wear your seatbelt.

that's actually the first time I've heard that Paul. The one line I always hear from racers is "but at Woodburn they've never said anything about that..." but this year will be more strict at PIR. It's an issue that's been brought up at meetings and we've got a new NHRA certified tech guy.

Skyler, it honestly depends on who is teching. I have been called out and check ever on all sorts of little things by some techs. Others check the battery and let me go.

I had one guy check my helmet and that was it. There was a chick that was very thorough. Blonde IIRC and rode a sport bike.

lol, i had one guy who saw the nitrous, and didn't beleive me when I told him I would be running only low 13's, he was sure I would run faster, and need more equipment. I finaly talked him into letting me run, to show him it wouldn't.

if you have a vert or t-top you are required to have a helmet no matter how fast you go

weather keeps changing from sun to ran that day haha.

but i have ran at this track with my t-tops and no helmet as far as i know at 13.99 you need the helmet or with verts.

pretty basic check everytime ive went.

No loose objects
seatbelts
battery hold down(a bungy cord or even a belt ive see used.haha)
and good legal tires
and all lugnuts.

nothing in depth at all.

well im hopeing we can have several 3rd gens their running. Smile
