Anyone know if the engine cooling fan from a 1996 Pontiac trans sport van will fit in a 91 Camaro or is that just silliness.
I've been driving around for nearly a year with no fan, not generally a very big deal out here in the sticks, but would like to take care of it. I have a van that is not selling fast so I was thinking about just taking the good stuff and sending the rest to senior crusher.

Break out your measuring tape, man. As long as it's the same height as your radiator, you should be able to zip tie it in temporarily. The plugs in those Chevy fans are as simple as 12V and ground. I have an old spare sitting around if you want it.

I guess thats what I'll have to do. Was just hoping someone had some inside top secret info on it before tearing into both of 'em potentially for nothing. Simply measuring accurately will be a chore.

Any one want to buy a 1996 trans sport 3.8 liter. Yeah I know been gettin that a lot lately. but seriously 500.00

I put a 94 radiator and dual fan setup in my 89. I just used the 3rd gen upper fan cap but I had to trim it to fit. I might have pictures on my cardomain site. Check my sig.

Well I pulled both of them out today and just swapped out the motors. The fan blades were a lot different in size and so it makes sense that the shrouds were too. And guess what it still don't work Crying or Very sad I am really confused by this too cause I bled. If you bleed then it has to work, its a law or something. No blood no work, loss of blood success. I'm confused.

I did a search here, and found some else had the same problem. I followed all the advice from that thread but I can't find the relay. I am now thinking that may be the problem as I burned the crap outta myself while looking for it. But still I bled whats up with that. I bled for nothing. I don't mind loosing a couple quarts of blood here and there so long as there's payoff, but noooo.

What motor do you have on your car? In my RS, the fan relay is on the firewall right by the drivers side fender.

Same as mine then. You should have 2 relays located on the firewall, between the brake booster, and drivers side fender.

One of them is for the fuel pump, the other is the rad fan.

now where did I put that flashlight....ahh here it is

Ok so armed with a flashlight and some blue speaker wire I jumped the old fan motor and it worked fine. I found the two relays but not sure which one is which. One appears to be quite a bit larger than the other but like I said not sure which is which and I would rather not kill my fuel pump monkeying around with it in the dark so it will have to wait. Now with my luck the 'new motor' I put in there is going to be too small. (it was driving a smaller fan) But at any rate I now know better where to look.
