Is this for a 'real' tranny cooler or the factory setup that runs coolant through the sandwich plate at the engine oil filter?

It's been awhile since I messed with a 700, but I seem to remember that the coolant lines were on a downward angle, and you could snag them without tilting the tranny down any.
As far as what Mike was saying though, unless you really like swapping transmissions, you need to invest in an auxiliary cooler. |

You don't have to pull the trans to do it. A good flare nut wrench will come in handy. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Rubber line has a nasty habit of melting, tearing, slicing, and generally leaking. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

| Meh. If you do as much as you can with the hardline and keep the rubber forward of the exhaust you'll be fine. Makes it so much easier. |

In my experience it is far easier to bend hardline into shape than it is to route and secure rubber lines so they stay out of the way. But whatever works, I guess. |

NO NO NO NO NO NO
You MUST have a cooler or you'll burn up the trans real quick. Be patient and don't be afraid to bend the lines a little to get them to fit. If you're struggling with the end at the trans, remove the crossmember and lower the trans down some with a jack to give you better access. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

It's no where near impossible. But sometimes they do fit you. It's also easier to unhook them from the radiator if they aren't already. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |
