My next project is gonna be putting a real fuse panel in the Mercury. Currently it has no real panel, just a couple fuses and all wires run through the headlight switch. This tends to cause fun things like random brake light failures Shocked

I would love to pick up something like this:

but that price is ridiculous. Do you guys have any recommendations on a good (preferably cheap!) fuse panel? Would I be better to scrounge up a scrapyard panel and retrofit it? I need a minimum of five circuits, and would prefer around ten, since Ford put a lot of stuff through the same five fuses.

Also, is there any place specific to buy bulk wire, or just whoever's cheap? I was thinking about these guys:

Thanks,

Aaron

Does the Merc have the brake light switch on the Brake fluid reservoir?

and is it a generator or alt?

Some of the links are old but the ones near the end are fairly helpful. FWIW, I needed a fusebox for the LS and I just grabbed a couple from a yard and used what fit best.

@ Ian, thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for! One of the links had a 10 circuit (4/6) box for around $40, which should work.

@ Chris, it still has the stock switch on the reservoir. The problem is that the brake switch is powered from the headlight switch, which causes it to lose power, thus no brake lights.

It does have an alt, with separate regulator.
