That's a water crossover. It seems likes ome intakes use it and some don't. I don't think it's used on my RPM intake.
Now I'm not sure, I'll have to look tomarrow. |

Most intakes don't use that water passage. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

| Do you have a real good straight edge? If so lay it against the manifold and see if its straight. If its good you can bolt them on without gaskets. I do like to use some exhaust gasket crack and seam sealer on em though. Just fills in any imperfections. If they're not totally straight just use the rebuilder type gaskets. They'll work fine for manifolds. Best if you retighten once or twice though.. kinda like headers. |

| Actually on a sb chevy you don't need to change the head bolts either. The only bolts that need to be changed are torque to yield bolts. These would be any that you torque and then tighten to a certain angle afterwards. Any bolt that is just a straight torque can be reused. You'll also want to use a bit of sealer on the intake, and the head bolts. The head bolts go into the water jacket, and can leak water into the oil if you don't seal them. The intake bolts go into the lifter valley, and you can puddle oil on top of the intake if they're not sealed. Use thread sealer with teflon.. |

| You dont want to use tape on the bolt threads. Use pipe and thread sealant with teflon, or permatex #2. Tape is ok for pipe threads. |

| You really dont want to use a silicone sealant. Any parts store should have either permatex #2 non hardening or the thread sealant. Permatex #2 is one of the oldest sealants made. |

| Even the plumbing section of a hardware store should have the teflon pipe sealant. |

Yup, theres 2 different ones tho, one by the oil filter, one on the intake manifold. Make sure and specify when buying |
