I will be making a road trip with a buddy of mine to Oregon on March 11th, we will probably get there on the 12th. I'm staying with Derek (fiveoformula) up in Hillsboro and was wondering if any of you guy's are going to go to the races at PIR that Friday? We all plan on going and seeing what we can do! I was hoping to meet some of you guys and see your cars!
I'll be driving this ->
Hope to see some of you while I'm there! _________________ 1998 Grand Prix GT | 12.91 @ 103 - Sold/Retired

We don't want to jinx you and have your car break down somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. _________________

| Oh, and get ready for the front of your car to be BLASTED with bug guts. When I took my bird to Utah the front end was green when I got there. |

Oh F Wyoming. I suggest you stay far away from there.
People are awesome but that land is cursed. I was riding shotgun (well, I was in a bean bag inbetween the captains chairs) in my friends rented Penske truck on our way back from North Carolina a year or so ago when we slide off the road and up a small hill. I think the only reason we didn't flip was because we had a car trailer on the back. A couple years before that a buddy of mine broke a torque arm mount out there and was stuck waiting for a new one for 3 days. |

[quote="iansane"]Oh F Wyoming. I suggest you stay far away from there.
I would have to agree with Ian on this one. I went to wyotech out there and a month before I graduated my RS got stolen from me. I almost failed chassis fab and high performance engines because my final project for that class was going to be port and polishing my heads. The cops did find it the week of my graduation when my family were already on there way down to pick me up in their ford windstar. Anyways I graduated had my car all loaded up and my parents van as well, start going up the first hill on the freeway out of Laramie and I look in my rear view mirror to see my parents had pulled off on the shoulder because there trans went out. A week and 3500 dollars later we could start going home again. Ya F Wyoming. _________________ Thirdgenless |

LOL.... seems to be some hate for Wyoming!
I've driven through Wyoming a bunch of times. Local drivers are rude as hell. No sense of driving courtesy. A lot of rough looking people, but that's probably just because they live a hard life. Hotels are expensive. You pretty much want to plan your trip to drive through in one day. And you better fill up on gas at every opportunity... because the next gas station might be a loooooong ways away! |

well WY is over 400 miles across.
Thats about a third larger than WA or OR and 2.5 times farther across than IL. all that means that there is a hell of a lot of nothing to see.
Been across it many times. Or maybe it was just once and it seemed like many I don't know. Never really had any problems there Except that time when I lost the power steering/water pump belt on a Caprice classic wagon, I loved that car, Made station wagons almost cool. Any who I coasted in to this hole in the middle of hell and they actually had a belt for me. they put it on and I was on my way in bout an hour. And to those of you that have been there you figure the odds that a belt would let go as your passing through a town on I80 lol. with 1 mile of town for every 70 miles of antelope. |
