My car is coming back together, and I'm trying to get everything dialed in before dyno.
I was previously running a single Electric fan which came with the car after my clutch fan died before Cows last year. Right now I have a very simple setup with a relay, 12v power and the ground switch in the head which turns the fans on. Unfortunately, its a stock TBI switch and it doesn't kick the fans on until 215 degrees. Much too hot for my motor.
I've been looking at this:
http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=HAD&MfrPartNumber=3652&PartType=600&PTSet=A
I have a 170 degree T-stat in there now. If I understand the description, it would be pre-set to kick the fan on at 185 degrees? How accurate are the probe type that go through the radiator fins? What are some of you guys running?
Also was checking this out:
http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=HAD&MfrPartNumber=3653&PartType=600&PTSet=A
I already have the in-head sensor, and a basic wiring harness already. Would this allow me to add adjustability, and have the in-head switch ground at whatever temp I set it at?
Thanks in advance for your input guys. _________________

Quick google search turned up this thread @ TGO
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/tpi/258087-coolant-fan-switch-part.html
Gives a couple part numbers for fan switches that turn on at 200 and off at 185.
I'd rather run one switch in the head that grounds a relay than those hokey probe-through-the-rad type. But I think it'd just my OCD hating clutter like that.
DirtySteve ran one of those adjustable kits from Hayden from Schucks (the one you posted the link to) in the Mudbathfinder and killed two of them. But I'm sure your camaro won't be seeing the extremes the pathy does. _________________

I'm running a hayden #3651 Cost's more but it's a screw in type and it's adjustable. It's easy to adjust. Just wait til the engine gets to the temp you want, turn the little adjusting screw til the fans come on and your set. But don't try to run two full size fans off it. Won't hold up. Ask me how I know that. Now I'm using this switch kit to turn on a 75 amp bosch relay. The adjustability is great. I turn it up a little during the winter, and then lower to get the fans on earlier in 90 plus degree heat. Couldn't be happier with it now.
