| My car is a 91 tbi 5.0 w/ manual tranny. Start car in the morning its fine and go to drive spitts and sputters, you have to ride clutch to take off, as car warms up runs a little better but not right. you stop and it searches for a idle. you drive car and acceleratle it starts to fall on it face from 12-2600 rpms and then runs smooth. you go and stop somewhere and come back out after it hot soaks and you have to keep your foot in it till cleans itself up. then back to the other problems. FINDINGS fuel pressure always stays where it suppose to, only code its ever come up with is 32 egr. I have replaced 02, tps, module, pickup coil, knock sensor, coolant temp sensor, module. injectors are new, tbi rebuilt, cap rotor wires, plugs, coil. Please anyone got some other ideas. I am at my witts end. thank you |

That EGR code might have something to do with it, try unplugging the vacuum line and blocking it off.
Drive around the block and see if that did anything. |

Is this a MAF based system? I had a really hard diagnostic with my V6 car. Ran great cold, then had a lean tip in pop, poor warm acceleration, and otherwise ran like poo. Ended up being a combination of the EGR stuck open from the EGR controller keeping it open and a faulty MAF sensor. The MAF sensor put out a scaled frequency output like it should, but it was offset completely wrong. I was pulling my hair out cause I had replaced EVERYTHING. _________________ E30

I agree that I would start with the EGR. You know the computer is not happy it. _________________

You say you rebuilt the TBI. Did you replace the IAC when you did this? Any way the tip on it could have gotten rotated?
Hard to tell on vac leaks when the car is surging, but have you checked for them and inspected all the lines.
Also check the EGR as mentioned above. If you already know you have problems with it, start there, then move on. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71
