So I mentioned in another thread that my Camaro had some sort of bad inbalance thing going on in the engine. Well today I busted her out of a pile of snow and took a look at it. The harmonic balancer seperated the outer ring from the hub and was just riding on there loose. I snagged the balancer off the GTA sitting here and she's good as new again.

Then I went sideways to celebrate!Thumbs up

Laughing so hard it hurts

Actually, old ones do it sometimes. Rubber between the two pieces dries up and cracks. Not something to get too worried about though.

You know the old 327 cranks didn't have a threaded hole. The specified means was installing with a hammer.

I installed the new one with a hammer, at least until I could enough threads on the bolt engaged to run it on. Just hit the hub, not the outside ring.

Shocked

Good thing you caught that when you did. That could have been very nasty, and a much more expensive fix.
